The story behind Malli Nadu perfume from Nissaba

In India, flowers play a central role in daily life, serving as sacred symbols often dedicated to Hindu religious rituals. They are commonly used to create garlands for adorning the hair or to mark significant social events, such as weddings.

Every day, tons of flowers are transported to local markets, where they are sold for use in religious ceremonies or as ornaments.

In this tradition, the buds of sambac jasmine are known as "malli". Tamil Nadu, also referred to as the "land of the Tamils", gave rise to the name "Malli Nadu", which literally means "the land of jasmine".
