The I-N Intelligent Nutrients brand story

• It all started in 2008, when Horst Rechelbacher became an environmental activist after selling his hair care line Aveda to the ELCO Group in 1997.

  Horst, a believer in practicing what you preach, felt this was the perfect opportunity to develop a new beauty brand that he could fully identify with and devote all his energy to.

  A brand that would conform to very new expectations at the time for cleaner beauty and which would be the very first to be fully certified by the U.S.D.A. This is how the I-N brand was born under the name Intelligent Nutrients.

  When Horst died in 2014, his partner Kiran Stordalen and his daughter Nicole Rechelbacher took over. They decided to continue Horst's commitment to natural beauty.

  They chose to rethink the I-N range, which has become more compact, retaining only the essentials, modernizing the design and it is in March 2021 that they have relaunched the brand under the name I-N, Intelligent™️.

  These unique formulas combine more than 225 active ingredients of plant origin, from plants around the world, selected for their bio-compatibility with skin and hair and obtained by patented extraction technology, without chemical solvents or environmental destabilizers.

• Of course, say goodbye to parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and animal suffering: in I-N products, all those things that should long ago be a thing of the past have been replaced by the best that Nature and science have to offer.

  All I-N brand products, with the exception of Tousled Texture Matte Styling Paste which contains beeswax, are vegan. Additionally, all products are Leaping Bunny certified, proving that each Intelligent Nutrient treatment has been formulated and manufactured without cruelty.

  100% CERTIFIED GREEN ENERGY
  Green-e® is a renewable energy program of the Center for Resource Solutions. I-N participates in the Green-e® program by using wind energy for its own use and also purchases Renewable Wind Energy Certificates (RECs) for energy used on its behalf by its manufacturing partners.

  ORGANIC COSMOS
  This internationally recognized standard for organic and natural cosmetics requires that 95% of the product's agro-ingredients be produced organically. Other ingredients must meet strict criteria to ensure that they are not harmful to our health or the environment. This standard also prohibits GMOs, nano-ingredients, irradiation and animal testing.

  NATURAL COSMOS
  This certification applies when certain plant ingredients or essential oils are not available organically, such as jasmine. Although it is not obligatory, the organic percentage is indicated on the I-N product label with a target set by the brand of a minimum of 65%.

  USDA
  The United States Department of Agriculture awards its seal to products whose formula is 100% organic, or whose content is 95% certified organic, with the remaining 5% of the content coming from a small, selected number of ingredients natural products that have not been certified organic and pose no known risks to health or the environment.
