The Story Behind LESSE

• Born in Sydney and raised with a deep reverence for the natural world, Neada Deters moved to New York to pursue a career in fashion media. There, she rose to editorial director at a global digital platform, writing about culture, style—and eventually, beauty.

  Frustrated by the lack of specialist voices in beauty journalism, she began conducting her own interviews with leading skincare experts. The conclusion? Less is more. Most advocated for streamlined routines to protect the skin’s barrier, yet mainstream beauty still pushed 10-step regimens.

  At the same time, Neada struggled to find clean products that truly worked for her reactive, acne-prone skin. So she did what no brand had done yet: she created the skincare line she had always searched for.

  After years of research and development in Los Angeles, LESSE was born in June 2018 with a single hero product: the Ritual Serum. To this day, it remains both a customer favourite and Neada’s personal essential.

  Now a cult brand in California, LESSE has finally made its way to Europe—bringing its pared-back, plant-powered philosophy to a wider audience.
